Updates

The World Cup is not yet a week old and I’m still waiting for an exciting game.
Granted, it’s still group stage, and the nail biting won’t begin before the Round of 16, yet I’m tired of all the draws, and “big name” teams playing as though they couldn’t care less about the World Cup, and referees that mistake a football match with a game of UNO.

My highlights so far were England’s Green crawling on the ground, trying to hold the easiest ball shot in football’s history, and – of course – failed, and North Korea scoring against Brazil. And of course, Germany vs. Australia, but that was more like a training session for the Germans rather than an actual football match. Maybe, the Socceroos were saving their energy for the real competition: Ghana and Serbia. Who knows… *g*

However, that match had been the most entertaining so far. Of course, I’m biased and everything, but this is a World Cup and I don’t want to see Ring a Ring o’ Roses like it happened between Brazil and North Korea. At least Brazil finally woke up and scored two goals. And they didn’t just score. No! The 1-0 was more like a magic trick by Maicon. Actually, it was an impossible goal, and I’m still wondering whether he had planned it, or whether it was just a lucky accident. One way or another, it was almost as nice as the only US-goal so far – which still makes me laugh. Aww, England… It would be less fun without you. ;D

I keep on hoping the next games will be more entertaining. At least, Germany was playing nice and it’s having the bestest fans in the whole wide world! They even painted their toenails for them. :D
